wrt this, I had an eye opening experience around Nishant's family. Bottom line,
You are limited by the rules you make for yourself.
Individualism is what shows who you truly are. Whether that is tradition, family, ethics. Envision no boundaries(no formalities either) what so ever and be that person you are. Just you and what you really really want. No compromise.
If you are up to this philosophy, read book Foundtainhead by Ayn Rand. Its an example of extreme individualism.
as I said I am not for extreme individualism, as lot of this actually simplify how to live life. It helps to avoid most mistakes, but the same script is prescribe to everyone - I think something is wrong with it. Unfortunately we still live in society, and life is not 1.5/2 hour movie, small blog post, so there is that too..
But I do think some of those things listed in post, and I hope and think it will evolve or get normalized to do things differently and its everyone's responsibility to allow that change and growth and not get caught up in whats going on for so long.
Agreed. I went the tough route of doing lot of analysis out of differences in two families only to realize that some of the traditions are so well thought and necessary
